Samani Hall at University of Juba Gets a Face-Lift at $170,000

University of Juba Vice Chancellor, John Akech to renovate Samantha Hall at University of Juba which has not been receiving serious maintenance since 1980s.

Samani Hall was built in early 1980s and named after insugural Vice Chancellor, Professor Samani Abdalla Yaqoub.

It has never received any serious maintenance ever since. It housed temporarily the Southern Sudan Transitional Legislative Assembly in 2005 following the signing of Comprenhensive Peace Agreement.

Maintenance started in February 2019 and will be completed by 3rd week of July. It will cost about SSP 50 million (USD 170,000). Upgrades include expandable capacity of 300 seats, 12 air conditions, fans, improved lighting, overhead projector, sound system, expanded staircase at entrances, a toilet, and space for translators in case of conferences.
