The hope and wish of the people of South Sudan is that there should be light at the end of the tunnel following a fruitful and an open hearted meeting of President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Dr. Riek Machar, full of smiles from the faces of the two leaders.
The two principals agreed on a number of issues that are seen as very significant in moving forward in the process of the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement.
The matters discussed were Security Arrangements, draft Constitutional Amendment, Security Laws, peace dissemination, funding the peace process as well as engaging the Non-signatories to the Revitalized Peace Agreement to come on board.
President Kiir and Dr. Riek agreed to form a committee to look into the final report of the Independent Boundary Commission IBC, on the number of states and its boundaries and come up findings that would be suitable for both parties, and the people of South Sudan.
President Kiir and Dr. Riek also agreed to meet from time to time in order to iron-out and accelerate the deal prior to the formation of the Transitional Unity Government.
