LIFE LINK Hospital/Clinic in Juba according to Nyaboth Paska Alfred, almost took her life because they put her on ‘WRONG’ medication for ‘WRONG’ disease. She wrote as below…
HEALTH ALERT! I almost lost my life in 2019 becuase I was put on WRONG medication for a WRONG DISEASE in LIFELINK HOSPITAL/CLINIC!
after my results came out from the laboratory, I was directed to go check on the doctor to explain what I was suffering from!
When I reached him, this was my conversation with him;
Dr: I think you have kidney problem that may require an operation
Me; Ok, why do you think? What’s the result indicating?
Dr; may be you have hepatitis
Me: Hepatitis? How, yet I took my second dose from your hospital two weeks ago?
Ok am confused can you just tell me what is written on the result? Else I will just go to another hospital or clinic for check up because looks like you are not even sure!
Dr: No, I know what am doing, that’s what the results are saying. Ok let me call a doctor in CARE (not so sure that’s the name but the hospital is next to Crown hotel)
THE GUY WAS SPEAKING IN LUGANDA AND READING THE RESULTS TO THE OTHER DOCTOR ON PHONE IN ORDER TO TELL HIM WHAT I WAS SUFFERING FROM! (And I heard everything)
The other doctor on phone advised that I was having a kidney problem given the explanation he heard( but both didn’t specify what kind of problem it was) so I should be put on drips and some tablets. Stupidly and desperate as I was, I accepted because I wanted to have a painless night and would take any medication at that point!
Ok to cut the story short I was put on a wrong medication that worsened my condition and almost died and my mother (God bless her) thought I wouldn’t make it to the next morning!
I was rushed to Yiliang Tang, a Chinese clinic near Home and away. Before the doctors did any tests they requested for the previous results which I gave them and then they proceeded to check what I was suffering from!
They did blood, urine tests and also did scanned my organs (kidney, lungs! Heart, bladder, uterus etc)
The results were out and I was diagnosed with
Gall stones in the bladder!
My kidney was OK and I had NO hepatitis. After two weeks of medication I was fully recovered!
I don’t know how many people have lost their lives in the hands of careless unqualified individuals coming to South Sudan as doctors and health practitioners!
LIFELINK clinic is the only clinic if am not mistaken working in the night. Even with this advantage they have failed to deliver better health services as they claim to be having. One would rather wait till morning to access medical services elsewhere!
Two of my family members rushed in the night to this clinic almost lost their lives due to wrong medication
-I cry because of the many lives of south Sudanese lost due to negligence of such unqualified doctors
– I cry because this country has been taken for granted by foreigners who claim to be anything while in the country
– I cry because even when we know what’s wrong we decided to do nothing!
Where should we go to, if these are the kinds of medical services that we have to deal with?
