Government set to create three more states. One in Equatoria and two in Upper Nile as citizens demand

The government is set to create 3 more states in South Sudan, one in former Equatoria and two in Upper Nile regions respectively, bringing the number of states to 35 plus Abyei Administrative Area. A source closer to President Kiir says the leadership is responding to people’s demand.

The Presidential order, according to sources who declined mention, would be out this week as Juba prepares for full implementation of R-ARCISS leading to the formation of TGoNU slated for February 22nd.

H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the First Lady Mary Ayen Mayardit and the accompanying delegation arrived in Juba international airport this afternoon where he received heroic welcoming to Juba after attending AU and IGAD meetings where he defended people’s demand for 32+ states.

President Kiir was received by thousands of jubilant citizen including youth, women, chiefs and governors who held up signs and shouted a slogans in support of the 32 States.
