The government High Level Taskforce on COVID-19 Pandemic has said there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus disease in South Sudan.
In a statement, Dr Riek Machar the First Vice President and Deputy Chairman of HLT, urged the public to ignore the rumours being circulated on the social and local media.
All cases tested in South Sudan have returned negative results since the outbreak of the disease.
ICRC also on twitter rejected claims that it has confirmed cases in South Sudan. The organisation said it is the role of the South Sudan’s Ministry of Health and WHO.
